Tiers of Membership
Whether you want to pop in the lab for a few hours once or are interested in helping to maintain it, we welcome your interest and participation!
Member
After completing the orientation, access is granted for lab use during the hours of 12pm-8pm.
Check the lab calendar for open hours and when the lab is staffed. print edition.
Mentor
Use of the lab unsupervised daily between 8am-11pm.
Mentors contribute to the development of the lab by staffing the lab weekly, and being available to support voxel members, and/or leading trainings, workshops, or other Voxel-related events.
Staff
Voxel Lab Staff have 24/7 access to the lab, and typically staff the space Monday-Friday.
Drive the success of the lab by leading orientations, trainings, workshops, or other Voxel-related events.
Interested?
Becoming a member of the Voxel Lab is easy! Membership is available to all MIT community members (students, faculty, and staff).
To become a Voxel member at any level, you must first receive an orientation to the space which covers community practices, safety, and emergency preparedness. Orientations are provided by Voxel Staff and Mentors; see the Voxel Calendar for orientation times.
Step 1 | Check the Voxel Calendar for a Voxel Lab Orientation. |
Step 2 | Register for Orientation using your MIT Email and Kerberos. |
Step 3 | Attend an orientation! |
Step 4 | Complete the Voxel Lab Membership Form and apply for iHQ After Hours Access to confirm your membership. |
Step 5 | Once you’re a member, you can sign-up for Studio Orientation and equipment trainings at the lab. Happy making! |
